Girls Junior School

Girls Junior School design for the Wakefield Grammar School Foundation. Tasked with re-configuring the layout of the school to create suitably sized classrooms. Respect to the buildings listed status to achieve sympathetic changes. All areas of the school are given a modern new look. Retaining the buildings historic features. A new roof light to the main hall allowed light to flood into the space. The girls junior school design included new colourful, bespoke joinery to create classroom storage. An intricate, inset School logo design into the Amtico parquet flooring established a ‘wow’ factor to the main entrance hallway. WGHS Junior School offers a state of the art learning environment within a period setting.

New Library for Wakefield Girls High School

Opening its doors to a new school year with a new Library for Wakefield Girls High School.

The school holidays have been a time for the students to reflect up on their last year and prepare for their next. During the summer while the classrooms stood dormant the library has undergone a huge transformation.

The existing library has been turned in to a flexible space. It can be used throughout the whole day for lessons, study and as a social hub. It is safe to say that this space will never again be used just for reading.

The multi-functional space boasts a new interior with areas for teaching, group discussions, reading and relaxing. The previous space was dark and worn but the new interior is bright and airy with splashes of colour to excite the eye.
